Horses
The Momentary Thoughts from a Satiated Mind is a sacred space where Spirit speaks before the fruit ever shows. Where whispers of heaven plant themselves in voice notes, morning commutes, and friendly WhatsApp messages. Where prayer calls turn into healing sessions! Oh, and the thought, she’s sometimes that unexpected guest—showing up barefoot, bold, and right on time…even if I’m in yesterday’s sweats and not emotionally ready for company 😅
It's been a minute since I’ve stopped by to write and today something said rewrite your thoughts and share on your blog. So here goes…
I’m currently studying the Epistle of James for my Ministry class, and let me tell you—no matter how many times in the past I’ve read this book, I get a more robust insight that James does not play around. In chapter 3:3–4, we get this vivid picture:
If we put bits into horses’ mouths to make them obey us, we can guide their whole body… and even massive ships, driven by strong winds, are steered by a very small rudder.
In other words: something small can guide something powerful. (Translation: your life might feel like a runaway horse or a cruise ship in a storm—but don’t panic, you’ve got a rudder 😉).
A few nights ago, as I was getting ready for bed, I remembered I had started reading the Book of Jeremiah months ago and never finished it. So, there I was, flipping through pages like a forensic detective, trying to find where I left off. My bookmark? Completely unhelpful. Classic!! The only clues were my highlights… little breadcrumbs from past me. And then—boom—my eyes landed on a section titled “God Answers Jeremiah.” Naturally, I leaned in. The first verse I saw was Jeremiah 12:5:
“If you have raced with men on foot and they have tired you out, then how can you compete with horses?”
Excuse me… horses again?!
At that moment, something deep within whispered: “The revelation is in the horses.”
Now, as a Minister of Spiritual Consciousness in training (yes, I said that with my chest 😄), I did what any curious soul would do—I took a deep metaphysical dive into the meaning of “horse”.
But before I get there, let me be real with you.
I had been doing some serious self-examination. You know those moments where life starts repeating itself like a song stuck on loop? Same patterns, different day, different job, different faces—but somehow… the same energy?
Yeah. That!!
I began to see that the patterns in my life weren’t random—they were rooted in my subconscious beliefs. My domestication aka my upbringing, my past experiences, my “this is just how life is” assumptions, and the parts of me that hold “unbelief”.
And here’s the kicker: There was still a part of me that struggled to fully believe I am worthy of GOODNESS.
That blessings can flow easily.
And when they do? Somehow I’d hit the self-sabotage button—distractions, old habits, familiar patterns—anything to pull me out of the flow.
(Anybody else ever trip over their own blessing? Or is it just me? 😅)
But here’s the revelation that shifted everything:
There is a sacred altar of the Holy Spirit within me—that is ALWAYS with me.
And I have to return to it moment by moment.
Because there are also… let’s call them “other altars”:
old conditioning
inherited patterns
limiting beliefs
emotional habits
And sometimes, those altars scream louder.
They whisper in subtle ways: “It has to be hard.” “You have to work harder, because money doesn’t grow on trees.” “Who do you think you are to accomplish this.”
As I did this deep contemplation Spirit reminded me of the Book of Jeremiah Chapter 1 verse 5:
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you…”
Knew me. Approved me. Appointed me.
So, wait… if God already established my identity, why am I out here negotiating my worth like it’s up for debate?
And then it hit me—clear as day:
You’re not just a horse… you’re a unicorn!
Meaning: I am breaking patterns no one in my lineage has broken before. I am walking into spaces no one from my lineage has ever seen. Of course, it feels unfamiliar. Of course it stretches me. I’m not behind—I’m pioneering.
Now let’s bring it back to James and those horses. James says we can guide a horse with a small bit. That means when something in my life starts going left—fear, doubt, negativity—I don’t need to wrestle the whole horse.
I just need to adjust the direction.
That “bit” for me is returning to my inner altar and saying:
“Holy Spirit, guide me back to the truth of who I am.”
Because when I say “Our Father…” I’m not reciting poetry—I’m making a declaration:
Everything belongs to Him.
Which means… I lack, no thing.
And Jeremiah? God was not reprimanding him in His answer…—he was being upgraded.
“If running with men tires you out, how will you compete with horses?”
This said to me…If this level stretches me… get ready. There’s more.
So, when life feels bigger than expected, it’s not a sign to shrink.
It’s a sign to rise.
No wonder James also says: “Consider it all joy…”
Joy?! In trials?!
Yes—because it means you’re leveling up into higher consciousness, deeper faith, greater alignment.
This is what the “Horse” further revealed to me
Let’s break it down:
1. Energy (The Horse)Your raw power—desire, drive, creativity, ambition.
No wonder we measure engines in horsepower. Even the world of machines had to borrow from creation to describe force. It’s like saying, “This thing moves with the strength of many horses!”—big energy, big motion, big capability. 🚗💨
Same with you.
You were designed with that kind of inner horsepower—spiritual, emotional, creative force ready to move you forward. The question isn’t whether you have power…
It’s how much of it you’re actually using—and where you’re directing it.
2. Direction (The Rider)Your mind, your awareness, your ability to choose.
Ahhh… my favorite subject—mindset. Because without transformation of the mind, we’re not really moving forward… we’re just doing spiritual reruns. Same patterns, new outfits. Same lessons, different day. 😄
If the mind isn’t renewed, we simply recycle yesterday’s beliefs and reproduce from that same space. And guess what? The results follow the blueprint of the thinking that created them.
But when the mind is transformed—when awareness awakens—you don’t just react… you choose. You redirect the horse. You shift the course. You step out of repetition and into creation.
Because a renewed mind doesn’t just think differently…
It lives differently.
3. Union (The State of Inner Flow) When the two align—no resistance, just movement.
When I consciously choose to align my mind with Truth, something sacred happens—I enter into flow with the Greater Mind… the Mind of God, the Creator of the Universe.
In that space, I’m no longer striving, forcing, or figuring everything out on my own. I’m moving with, not against. Thoughts become clearer, steps become ordered, and grace fills the gaps I used to struggle through.
It’s no longer just my mind trying to make things happen…
It’s Divine intelligence expressing through me.
And in that flow?
Things don’t just work…
They unfold.
And here’s the truth that set me free:
The horse is not the master. The horse is power.
Most of us live in one of two places:
The horse is running wild (hello chaos and distractions 😵💫)
Or the rider is holding back (fear, doubt, playing small)
But mastery?
It’s not about control.
It’s about attunement…alignment.
The Law I received from the Horse Revealed
Power without direction = destruction
Direction without power = stagnation
But aligned? That’s destiny.

So How Do You Ride?
Do you know your horse → What drives you? What energizes you?
What practice do you have in place to strengthen your rider → To gain clarity, discipline, emotional balance?
Do you give yourself permission to train with grace? → Don’t fight yourself—refine yourself!
Are you going against the current…then beloved enter flow → Where you and God move as ONE!
Because when that happens -
There is no resistance. Only flow. Only possibility.
The word horse whispered something powerful:
You already have the power.
The question is… are you guiding it?
Or is it dragging you through life like a spiritual rodeo? 🤠

I pray we all receive the courage:
To uproot what no longer serves us
To break down limiting beliefs
To overthrow every pattern holding us back
To plant new seeds that flourish in every season
